Good location. Excellent bar/restaurant on 26th floor with a panoramic view on the city (well, even there's not much to see). Good Guns'n'Roses pub/restaurant in the hotel, nice live music every night.
The hotel is still in soviet era. It's definitely too much expensive for the service. Rooms are not refurbished. Air conditioning not working at all. Very noisy if you open the window to refresh. Bathroom is very old, hot water takes ages to arrive. The worst of all is the hotel of offer special discounts of 10.000 or 15.000 tenge per room on the reception desk while they make foreign people to pay 20.000-25.000 tenge when booking in advance: it's a complete shame. So the only reason to go to this hotel is because other international classs hotels are much more expensive in Almaty. If you budget is not limited to 120 k€ per day, better avoid this hotel!

I loved relaxing in the King Suite while enjoying the free spa facilities and taking in the amazing views from the hotel bar. There are also some great options for unwinding like karaoke nights and live entertainment. Just a heads up, my towels were a bit on the thinner side, but it didn't ruin my stay at all 😊

The view outside the window = mountains.
Weak coffee (if it could be called a coffee at all) during breakfast. Almost nonexistent or very poor WiFi signal.
